Migrate your workload to enjoy innovative cloud services!

In April 2008, Google first released App engine, which was the first platform in Google data centres that allowed enterprises to develop services and to connect websites with applications. From November 2011 onwards, Google has actively promoted this particular mode of business and has launched a wide variety of application products on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

As of late 2019, there were over 90 mature products available on GCP for developers and engineers to use in tandem. With respect to Cloud Compute, several iconic and featured products individually demonstrate the multiple development directions of GCP.

(1) App Engine – it represents Google’s initiatives of developing the Platform as a Service.

(2) Compute Engine – Infrastructure as a Service is a virtual machine that is compatible with operating systems, such as Windows and Linux.

(3) Kubernetes Engine (GKE) / GKE on-prem – it is a practice compatible with Anthos, which is a hybrid Cloud platform, and represents the novel concept of Containers as a Service.

(4) Cloud Functions – it can run incident-oriented programme codes and demonstrate Functions as a Service.

(5) Cloud Run – it was announced in Google Cloud Next 2019 that a running compute environment based on Knative would be provided for users to exercise comprehensive management.

Although GCP Cloud compute machines have developed in multiple directions, ‘to launch a flexibly expandable and high-performance VM’ has been the most acceptable, widely available and popular channel among beginners migrating to Cloud. Compute Engine provides users with a virtual machine that can be run in Google’s innovative data centres and worldwide networks of optical fibres. Compute Engine’s VM has a short boot time and permanent disk storage space in addition to stable performance. In terms of specifications, virtual servers have a great range of settings available. Enterprises can also customise the types of machines in accordance with their own special requirements. Flexible charging methods are applied and automatic discounts are offered for subscription renewal.

Microfusion’s clients in various industries, including ETtoday the media company, Marie Claire the fashion trends magazine, TaiMed Biologics the pharmaceutical and Browan the electronic manufacturer, have had great comments on Compute Engine services. This shows that GCP can provide the best solutions for challenges facing different industries. Apart from working on the infrastructure, Google will keep diversifying the products on GCP and growing in the 5 major developing directions, namely infrastructure modernisation, application modernisation, data management, smart analytics & AI as well as productivity collaboration.

Is it difficult for you, who may have no experience in using Cloud machines, to imagine the formats of GCP applications? Are you already used to other Cloud platform products but are still not satisfied with the performance? An internal training conference for the collaborating partners was held in HTC Corporation Headquarters, Xindian District, New Taipei City in January 2020. ‘For different surrounding structures,’ a speaker from Google said in the conference, ‘GCP has already devised 5 migrating structures, namely AWS, Azure, container, on-prem and Vmware. The user can, therefore, effortlessly migrate to GCP regardless of location.’

Microfusion’s team of structural specialists can help and guide enterprises to smoothly migrate to Cloud and to improve the users’ habits so that system performance can be enhanced. We are committed to optimising service systems on behalf of the enterprises and to freeing them from the troubles of building infrastructure.
